WeatherBrains 106: GW Advocate Chimes In
WeatherBrains Episode 106 is now online (February 5, 2008). This is THE netcast audio program for people who absolutely love everything weather.
Joining us as our special guest tonight is Dan Satterfield from WHNT-TV in Huntsville, AL. Dan has been the Chief Meteorologist at WHNT since 1994. Dan recently produced a piece on the Arctic after his personal voyage there with emphasis on the impacts of climate change. Dan speaks openly about his support of manmade global warming and is one of the only ones who does to accept a Weather Brains invitation to join us on the show.
Rants: Of course, what would a Weather Brains episode be without at least one rant? The topic once again has to do with the complex wording of NWS forecasts.
Mailbag: And our very own EMO, Email Officer, returns with a sack full of mail to talk about.
From The Weather Center:
WeatherBrains 101: Groundhog day has come and gone, so did you see your shadow? How about a look at some extremes for winter weather across the United States – and perhaps even further for you really cold weather buffs?
This Week In Weather History: Did you know that shipping on the Great Lakes, wrecked by repeated storms, helped to establish a national weather service? Bill Murray prowls the record books for an interesting look at the early history of the establishment of the US Weather Bureau.
Listener Surveys: Okay, okay, we keep driving this topic into the ground, but we really do like to hear from you. And many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to fill out the Listener Survey. The survey just takes a minute or two, and it provides us with an opportunity to learn where you are and hear your thoughts and comments on the show. Click here to take the survey.
