WeatherBrains 275: Heavy Hearts

WeatherBrains Episode 275 is now online (May 2, 2011). If you are crazy about weather, this is THE netcast audio program for you!

This week’s show is a two hour special. Regulars James Spann, Bill Murray, Dr. Tim Coleman, and Kevin Selle are joined by John Oldshue, John Brown, and Mike Wilhelm to simply share their thoughts on the horrible April 27, 2011 tornado outbreak that has killed over 300 people across the Deep South and injured thousands more. No regular features this week; it is simply a chance for these men to talk a little and decompress. A different, but important WeatherBrains. We hope you have time to listen.

Thank you so much for putting together this broadcast. I have listened to many of your shows – but this one left an impact that won’t be forgotten. I have always felt as if forecasters take it personal when there is a loss of life during these outbreaks. We always question ourselves afterwards – did we do enough – was there something more we could have said? We will never know how many lives your crew saved – along with the SPC and the NWS during these big events. Undoubtedly thousands. You did great work. Thanks.
