JB Elliott, James Spann, and Brian Peters chat about the active weather. Due to vacation plans (“vacations are for sissies!”) this show was recorded on Thursday evening, May 22nd, for posting on May 26. Snow was expected in the west and severe storms produced another fatality in Colorado. The National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center released their seasonal outlook for the 2008 hurricane season. The Canadian Hurricane Service described the outlook as “alarmist.” And the good ole GFS – Global Forecast System model – provides us with plenty to talk about with a long range forecast that includes a tropical system during the first few days of June.

From The Weather Center:

WeatherBrains 101: Our atmosphere! That’s the topic for this week. This segment looks into the composition of the air. And isn’t it interesting that water vapor only comprises about 1 percent of the air, but that element is the one that gets most of the attention from meteorologists.

Listener SurveyListener Surveys: Okay, we continue to drive this topic into the ground, but we really do like to hear from you. Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to fill out the Listener Survey. The survey takes just a minute or two to complete and provides us with an opportunity to learn where you are and hear your thoughts and comments on the show. Click here to take the survey.
