While studying meteorology at Cornell, Wayne decided to give television a try, and after graduation, he started his broadcasting career at WGRZ in Buffalo. He moved to the Ohio Valley in 1987 to accept a job at WLKY in Louisville, and six years later, Wayne traveled down river to Evansville and NEWS 25.
