James Spann talks about opportunities in the media in spite of the economic situation today. James spoke positively about changing as the media changes. You’ve got to have content for the media business. Need to invent a new model that works – people have the power not the media. Schedule driven by need not be the time it is presented. Media has become a two-way conversation. Facebook and Twitter have become universal interactivity avenues. Advertisers looking for an engaged audience.

Other discussions in this weekly podcast include topics like:

  • 23 was coldest reading in Yellowstone and Stanley
  • -6 coldest in Alaska
  • some heavy rain in the Northeast
  • parts of South Texas still in deep drought
  • 109 in Death Valley – hot in the west
  • and more!
  • Our mail bag continues to get some attention. Kevin goes with a request for Ms Molly on Twitter. From Texas, a great show compliment from another weather enthusiast. A note about public storm shelters.

    From The Weather Center:

WeatherBrains 101: This week the professor discusses another not so famous name in early weather from England, John Dalton. Dalton kept meticulous records on the weather using instruments he made himself. But he’s also famous in another area.

TWIWH: Bill Murray looks back at a potpourri of interesting weather from the week of April 22nd including a very early tropical storm, some heavy rain, and a big snow – all to go along with some severe weather.

Listener SurveyListener Surveys: Okay, we continue to drive this topic into the ground, but we really do like to hear from you.
