Dr. Trobec has his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University, his Masters from Mississippi State in Geosciences, and his Ph.D. from South Dakota State University in Atmospheric, Environmental and Water Resources. He is a CCM and a CBM, and an AANG (all Around Nice Guy). He is the Chief Meteorologist at KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, SD.
Our guest WeatherBrain is Sean Potter, Communications Specialist National Weather Service/Freelance Science Writer. Sean is a free lance science writer and contributing editor at WeatherWise magazine. He is a Hoosier, graduating from Indiana University. He writes the column Retrospect for WeatherWise, which focuses on interesting events in weather history. He is a CBM and a CCM and a member NCIM. With all those acronyms, it’s no surprise that he works for the National Weather Service, where his day job is Communications Specialist. He’s married and lives in NYC.
Other discussions in this weekly podcast include topics like:
Kevin is feeling very lonely since the mail bag has not gotten much mail – Bill’s fault according to Kevin! Mark your calendar to write him!
From The Weather Center:
WeatherBrains 101: Weather events occur on all scales from the largest (synoptic) to the smallest (micro). Over the last few weeks the topics have been on a somewhat large scale, but this week we change the view and look at a smaller scale event in arid areas with an unusual name.
TWIWH: Bill Murray looks back at the week of December 7th through 13th. The week included a tragic aircraft event.
Listener Surveys: Okay, we continue to drive this topic into the ground, but we really do like to hear from you. Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to fill out the Listener Survey. The survey takes just a minute or two to complete and provides us with an opportunity to learn where you are and hear your thoughts and comments on the show. Click here to take the survey.
