WeatherBrains Episode 338 is now online (July 16, 2012). If you are crazy about weather, this is THE netcast audio program for you!
Tonight’s GuestWeatherBrain is affectionately known as the “Godfather of Pacific Northwest Weather.” Dr. Cliff Mass is a professor of Atmospheric Science at the University of Washington. We spoke with him Sunday afternoon from one of the most beautiful places in the U.S., Seattle, WA.
Guest Panelist for the evening is Matt Ernst from Fox 34, Lubbock, TX. Matt sent us a picture of him with JB Elliott which is posted at the bottom of the episode notes.
We are giving away a copy of Dr. Mass’ excellent book, “The Weather of the Pacific Northwest”. To win it, email your answers for these five questions from the interview to email@weatherbrains.com.
1. Who place in the Pacific Northwest holds the record for greatest annual snowfall?
2. What sort of computing capacity machine would level the playing field for the US in NWP?
3. Name the most powerful extratropical storm to ever hit the U.S.
4. Where did the Pacific Northwest’s strongest tornado strike?
5. How much rainfall does Seattle receive on average each year?
We will draw one winner from the correct answers submitted by 5 p.m. CDT Monday, July 23, 2012.

TWIWH: Bill Murray looks back at the week of July 16th. This week included a hurricane simulation with a huge impact. Then Katrina came along just a year later after the exercise.
Listener Surveys: Okay, we continue to drive this topic into the ground, but we really do like to hear from you. Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to fill out the Listener Survey.
