WeatherBrains Episode 329 is now online (May 7, 2012). If you are crazy about weather, this is THE netcast audio program for you!

Brian Shields, WFTV, Orlando, FLOur guest panelist for this episode is Brian Shields, morning meteorologist at WFTV, the ABC affiliate in Orlando, FL. He graduated from Villanova with a degree in geography and went on to obtain his Broadcast Meteorolgy degree from Mississippi State. He worked in Salisbury, MD, and Charleston, WV.

He grew up in Connecticut and Virginia and always loved the weather. In 1985, Hurricane Gloria triggered a serious interest in weather, in particular the tropics!

At Villanova University, he teamed up with his professor and published two studies on hurricanes and their impact on increased precipitation in the Eastern United States. He is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) through the American Meteorological Society and also has his National Weather Association Seal of Approval for weathercasting.
He is a big fan of the New York Yankees and when the college basketball season rolls around, he is glued to the TV to watch the Villanova Wildcats!

Tonight’s Guest WeatherBrain is a senior forecaster at the NWS Forecast Office in Paducah, KY. Chris Noles got his start in weather in 1991 with WeatherData and joined the NWS in 1992.
