WeatherBrains goes LIVE!!! This is a historic show going live at Huck’s Rib Shack in Leeds, AL. Special thanks to the whole Huck’s team for hosting us today. The menu is wonderful and the smells are out of this world!

Our guest WeatherBrain for this episode is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the NWS in Glasgow, MT, Tanja Fransen. She has been with the NWS for 15 years. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado and serves on the American Meteorological Society Board of Societal Impacts and is part of the Weather and Society: Integrated Studies (WAS*IS) program. She has been active with the SKYWARN program most of her career and is on the current SKYWARN Modernization Team.

She worked in Rapid City, SD and she is currently the morning meteorologist on WTVQ in Lexington, KY. Mary did a presentation last Friday at the 9th Southeast Severe Storm Symposium in Starkville, MS, about the changing landscape for women in broadcast meteorology.

He attended Westminster School, the University of Oxford, and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. He co-founded the magazine The Idler and founded the Cloud Appreciation Society in 2004. He grew up in West London and now also lives in Somerset. He is the author of the best-selling The Cloudspotter’s Guide.
