WeatherBrains 151: Cold Notes from Glasgow

Tonight, with lots of winter weather going on, we place a call to Andrew Zimmerman, a meteorologist at the NWS in Glasgow, Montana. Lows today were into the -30 degree range, coldest since 2005. At Glasgow they set another record low high, that’s two days in a row. About 10 inches of snow fell over the weekend. Blizzard Warnings were up over the weekend along with a Wind Chill Warning for wind chills approaching -60.

But driving in fog, especially when the visibility varies dramatically, can be dangerous and Bill Murray has the details on one such event.
