We&#8217;ll get a season update from Phil Klotzbach from Colorado State and <a href=\"http:\/\/hurricane.atmos.colostate.edu\/\" title=\"Colorado State\"><strong>The Tropical Meteorology Project<\/strong><\/a>.  We&#8217;ll also remind the skeptics that the peak of hurricane season is still a few months away;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.weatherbrains.com\/images\/070716wavehouse.jpg\" alt=\"Wave House\" style=\"width: 170px; height: 113px\" title=\"Wave House\" align=\"left\" border=\"1\" height=\"113\" hspace=\"8\" vspace=\"8\" width=\"170\" \/>Waves:<\/strong>  Researchers at Colorado State University and Oregon State University are doing a first-of-its-kind study this year to learn more about how hurricane driven waves affect woodframe structures.  In the wake of hurricane Katrina the research, done in the giant tsunami <a href=\"http:\/\/wave.oregonstate.edu\/\" title=\"O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory\"><strong>wave tank<\/strong><\/a> at Oregon State, will provide valuable information to engineers and builders.
