Mike is a climatologist\/meteorologist with interest in land-surface-atmosphere interactions. Mike has looked at the impact of heterogeneous surfaces upon formation regions of convection in Illinois and Mississippi. Mike has also studied severe local storms in the Mid-Atlantic region in an attempt to identify processes generated at the Earth&#8217;s surface that augment the mesoscale atmosphere creating an environment of enhanced instability and shear. Outside of work Mike enjoys storm-chasing, playing with his dogs, restoring antique sewing machines, and training for triathlons.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.weatherbrains.com\/graphics\/ryan-stinnett.jpg\" alt=\"Ryan Stinnett\" align=\"left\" \/>Joining us as a WeatherBrains guest panelist is <strong>Ryan Stinnett<\/strong>. Ryan has his Masters degree in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. He did his undergraduate work at South Alabama. He recently was part of a prestigious national forecasting contest.
