If you are crazy about weather, this is THE netcast audio program for you! Of course, it helps to be a little nuts about technology, too, as we saw last week with our guest, Leo Laporte.

This week we return to the mundane world of weather. And you can be sure the word cold will appear a number of times as winter clenches its hold on much of the US during the last week or so.

Tonight our main topic is radar with a special guest. Jeff Berardelli is a meteorologist with CBS in Miami. Jeff is the founder of Zoom Radar, www.zoomradar.com, radar for web sites for television stations. Jeff is a weather geek, so he fits right in, but he knew little about computer technology so he waded into interactive display of radar. Jeff has a fascinating story of how he got it all going. The product allows people to zoom close in while retaining the resolution of the radar display. Plus Jeff talks a bit about the weather business in Miami.

wb011909.mp3

Other discussions in this weekly podcast include topics like:

Cold, cold, and more cold – weather that is.

But some temperatures are warming – like in Alaska of all places.

Snow cover has diminished by about 15 percent.

and more!

Our mail bag has been getting some attention and Kevin puts it in perspective.
